Mideando String Quintet is proposing a brand new kind of music that EBMA (European Bluegrass Music Association) has defined as : NEW ACOUSTIC MUSIC.

The use of instruments such as mandolin, octave mandolin, mandocello, violin, guitar and electric bass creates a wide spectrum of string sounds which is rounded of by polished 5 part vocal harmonies. Their style of music can be summarized as a fusion of Rock, Blues and Pop, influenced by Jazz and Ethno-music with a touch of Country-Bluegrass.

In the CD "L'INVERNO DEI COLTELLI", published in Fall 2000, there are original songs written by Mideando; this CD is the result of a in-depth musical research that puts together the sound of their acoustic instruments and italian texts written by Mr. Giulio Mozzi (book writer for Mondadori-Einaudi). During their show many Covers, fully rearranged, are performed.

Some of these songs are collected and available in a Live CD called "BOOTLEG !", recorded during the 2001 Tour. The CD "VIAGGIO..." (trasl.: Journey), produced by Velut Luna (June 2004), keeps on the already choosen direction, presenting ten new original songs and two covers that live the unmistakeable Mideando's sound.
