Roots and Galoots
Roots and Galoots appear regularly in the music scene throughout Wales, and can be heard at festivals, and many venues in Britain and Ireland.
Thier material includes lively traditional Bluegrass music and a wide range of songs featuring close 3-part harmonies
A new CD is in preparation featuring Live sessions from the '2006 Didmarton Bluegrass Festival' and 'Mountain Studios'.
Another Night
Thier latest album, "Another Night", was launched on CD in Summer 2006 and you can buy copies direct from this site.

Band
Roland Emmanuel
Mandolin and Vocals
Having played guitar for a few decades, Roland turned to mandolin 3 years ago. He enjoys pickin' and singing, especially harmony vocals. Married to Ruth and living in Gowerton, he is an old Bishop Gore schoolmate of Peter and Paul. His ambition is to sing and play with Del McCoury.
Chris Moreton
Chris often described as the UK's Premier Flatpick Guitarist . Awarded BBMA "Instrumentalist of 1996" and Guitarist Magazine's "Acoustic Guitarist of the Year" for 1997.
Being a multi instrumentalist, Chris experience in bluegrass enhances the band's performances greatly. Known more widely as a solo artist, Chris's performances feature a variety of songs, audience participation, anecdotes and arrangements of Celtic, Appalachian and Texas fiddle tunes.
Classical pieces by Handel and Mozart and self written material on guitar, banjo and mandolin.
Bill Steele
Guitar and Vocals
Bill is a bluegrass veteran having played in a number of bands including 'Double Bill', 'Midnight Specials', 'Trouble & Strife', 'Rainbow Pickers', 'Buffalo Bluegrass Band' and 'Out of the Blue'. Having performed at many festivals his major musical influences are Doc Watson, Tim O'Brien and the Kentucky Colonels and of course Bill Munroe.
Roy Nicholls
Fiddle
A former student of the Royal Academy, Roy was immersed in the classical tradition of violin playing before being exposed to bluegrass. Together with his brother, Ian - of 'Buffalo Smoke' - Roy became a regular figure at Bluegrass festival picking sessions. Since joining, he has made a significant contribution to the band's sound and his attention to detail has significantly influenced the band's musical direction.
Peter Williams
Acoustic Bass
Peter has been a musical director, arranger and composer for Channel 4 Wales and the BBC since 1980. He currently runs the South Wales based company Theatre Music Projects. Peter has worked with a variety of artists including Bryn Terfel, Vanessa Mae, Peters and Lee, Bonnie Tyler and Max Boyce. He has also composed for the National Dance Company of Wales and for the National Eisteddfod.
Harry
Bass
Harry started playing folk music many years ago; he now plays double bass, mandolin, five string banjo, pipes and whistles. He loves playing Bluegrass music and has been influenced by some great British musicians inclusing Richard Collins, Garry & Sherryl Payne, and the Holland family. If you see anyone wearing a pair of curtains on as trousers, that'll be Harry.
Becky
Bass
Has had a varied career in the music industry both as a performer and a technician. Having been a singer / guitarist from the age of 13 she has played in various bands covering Folk, Country and Jazz. Most recently she has been playing double bass and singing with Hotclub band Django Chutney, The Women In Jazz All Stars and various Trad Jazz bands including Gwyn Lewis' Speakeasy and the Lazzee River Jazz Band. Becky also runs a Sound Equipment hire company with partner Joe.
Paul Hill
Paul is a well known figure on the bluegrass scene in the UK, he certainly stands out in a crowd! Paul hails from Bristol where he is a research fellow at the University.
His love of music, especially bluegrass, has driven him to become acknowledged as an accomplished guitar and banjo player. Paul often tutors and provides workshop sessions at festivals around the UK.
Bill Titley
A well respected veteran of the British Bluegrass scene, having won many prestigious picking competitions, including Edale. Bill has played with numerous well-known musicians for many years including Alexis Korner.
He presently plays with 'Swamp Donkey' jug band and his own trio, 'Slap That Thing', alongside his partner Linda and her son Reuben.
