After winning Third prize at the European Mandolin Award 07 (Greece), Second prize at the Calace Competition (Italy), First prize of the Jerusalem Rubin Academy competition for String Instruments (2006) and several more - mandolinist Alon Sariel is making his name as one of the leading mandolin players world wide.

Playing as mandolin soloist with orchestras such as The Jerusalem Radio Symphonic Orchestra, The Israeli Chamber Orchestra, the Israeli Simfonieta, Ashdod chamber orchestra, the Beer-Sheva Mandolin Orchestra, and a very active chamber music musician.

From a very early age Alon was recognized as one of the most talented musicians at the Beer-Sheva Samuel Rubin Conservatory, was supported by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, and while studying with Lev Khaymovic he won first prize at the Albert and Edna Serni Competitions (Israel) and Twice in a row (05' & 06') he received the first prize of the prestigious "Monart Center of Art" Competitions.

While studying for his B.A at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy for Music and Dance with Motti Shmidt, founded the Jerusalem Baroque Trio also known as Trinidad Enssemble which won several competitions including the Jerusalem Rubin Academy chamber music competition, played for live bradcast to Kol HaMusica Radio and performed widely all over Israel.

He participated in important international festivals such as Wight-Night Marathon for Jazz and Avant-garde in Tel Aviv, "Sounds in the Desert Festival" and "Kfar Blum Festival" which are also broadcasted through Israeli radio and television, Logrono (Spain) Plectrum Festival, the International Plectrum Festival of Beer-Sheva, Incontri Musicsli Festival of Bonassola (Italy), the Riviera Guitar Festival in Savona (Italy), International Mandolin Academy (Italy) and many more.

Participated in master-classes with wide known mandolin players such as Ugo Orlandi and Carlo Aonzo, the Jazz and intuitive music artist Markus Stockhausen, the violinist Ilan Gronich (Sounds in the Valley Seminar), the recorder virtuoso Corina Marti (Jerusalem Early Music Work-Shop) and the Clarinet artist Giora Feidman (Safed Kleizmer Work-Shop). At August 2005 Alon was invited to take part in a world music camp Ethno-Cyprus 2005, and in April 2007 was invited to record a program of mandolin and piano at Maestro Arie Vardi television program "Intermezzo".

The situation in the middle-east is a subject which Alon normally puts a lot of effort to change. He was a member of the Jewish-Arab youth orchestra with them he toured to East Europe and played a concert through Radio Slovenia, today he is a member of the West Eastern Divan Orchestra after receiving an invitation from Maestro Daniel Barenboim, with whom he toured all over Europe and played at the most important festivals such as Lucerne Festival and Salzburg Music Festival.
