My new 2nd hand mandolin

My new secondhand Kentucky KM-171 mandolin I got from hobgoblin music shop.

Very happy with this mandolin.
Have not changed strings yet.
It is strung with light gauge strings so will stick with that gauge as I like the bright sound and it is easier for me to play with light gauge strings.

Great to have a mandolin that stays in tune from the E strings up to the G strings as my first mandolin was a cheap £60.00 Blue Moon BM 05 mandolin.

I like the tune Shove The Pig's Foot A Little Closer To The Fire
and Johnny Mickey's Slide plus a few good Irish slow airs.

Cheers

Fergus

Looks like a good buy, Fergus. All the best with it and with your playing. Where are you based?
