In the meantime, here is a brief outline:

Following the success of the Teachers course which ended in 2007 the British BMG Federation is running a Mandolin Teachers course in 2009/2010. The course will run over 5 weekends. The course is open to all; and will be of interest to practising teachers and to those who aspire to teach, and to those who just want to learn more.

The first course weekend is planned for December 2009. Further dates will be in 2010. Participants can either sign up for the whole course which will amount to 12 credits towards qualification (qualifications are awarded by a variety of olleges and Examinationboards), or can choose which ‘free standing’ weekends they wish to take part in, which will earn individual credits.
The content of the course will focus upon
• The methodology of teaching
• Celtic Music forms and styles
• Mandolin History and Repertoire

There will also be individual lessons from experienced tutors, workshops in ensemble leading and a variety of topics related to group and individual teaching of both adults and children.
