Been listening to the new Rory Gallagher releease Wheels Within Wheels - good stuff, but of most interest is a track where he plays blues mandolin live.

Rory

Postby Brian Bushbury » Wed Apr 05, 2006 1:34 pm

Hi,

It must be Going to my home town off Irish Tour. Rory was the best and my all time hero. Privileged to have seen him live about twenty times.

One winter in Brum around 1974 he played solo after the band got stuck somewhere in the fog. Then he came back a couple of weeks later with the band and if you kept your ticket you got in again.

What a man. What a loss.

Bri.

Agreed Brian!

I saw him three times live & he was indeed a class act.

Great loss

I saw Rory just the once, in Brighton at The Dome (a wonderful venue), he was superb. Last weekend I had the pleasure of openin' for Sinnerboy, an excellent tribute to the music of Rory Gallagher. They could've played at least as long again an' I don't think anyone there would have minded.
My personal philosophy

There's only three types of music :
That what you like
That what you don't and
That what you ain't heard yet [:{)>
