Another great concert by the Fretfuls at the All Saints Centre last night.

Very interesing to hear mandolin arrangements of a piece from Karl Jenkins' choral album Adiemus II.

Magnificent performance of Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Mandolins by Rosi Bryer and Chris Slack. They started the first allegro at a sensible pace but were really going it by the second one.

Mango Trio very pleasant as usual with a nice arrangement by Chris Slack of Santa Lucia - a real exercise in tremolo control with great contrast between loud and soft.

My favourite was the Conceto De Camera by Victor Kioulaphides. Lots of birdsong in that, but surely The Cuckoo was the second piece not the first?

Oh yes, let's not forget Ian Harris's virtuoso performance on musical saw on Salut d'Amour! (actually, the mandolin parts were beautifully arranged too).

A great concert all round and I'd recommend anyone to go along to any future appearances (see www.fretful-federation.co.uk/).
