Fine Resophonic resonator mandolin
Prototype No.01 made in December 2003 by Paris based luthier Mike Lewis

Here's a demo video of the range of the mandolin

This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a unique, collectable and beautiful instrument in mint condition.

Maple body, neck & headstock, ebony fretboard, mother of pearl fretmarkers, nickel coverplate & tailpiece, 9 inch resonator cone.

I purchased this mandolin new from luthier Mike Lewis at the London guitar fair in 2004. It is a unique and rare prototype of a wood bodied resonator mandolin accurate in every way with the original National standard. The body is a 12 ply laminate, and the maple is quite beautiful. It comes in a modern solid fitted case, with backstraps. I am selling because I have rarely used it except professionally in the recording studio, where it excels, but the time has come to part with this unique mandolin, as I regrettably have to shed some of my lesser used instruments. Great for blues, trad or noisy sessions.

I am based in the UK, so it would be easier to sell here, but I’m sure there are ways of getting it to the USA, should that be the case. I can provide more detailed images and sound samples on request from genuinely interested purchasers.

I am asking £1650, or $2650 US

Difficult, I know, but you could even try putting it in the classifieds!

This is now sold - I'd remove it from the old classifieds but I can't fond a way to do it, apologies.
Thanks

It never appeared in the classifieds, so no problem there.
