Hi Guys,
In a previous thread I mentioned my temptation to build an electric mandolin. Well, I’ve completed the e mando.
I really enjoyed building it and it is great fun to play too.
Above are a few photos for you: hope that you like them and a link to a video.

For those of you who are interested, I ‘ve also written in some depth about its design on my blog.

Wow Gary, that looks a bit good, radical position for the tailpiece mind.

Love it. The tailpiece is extra cool. I like that the break angle on the saddle is a bit sharper than a standard mandolin.
Tell us about some of your choices. Who made the made the pickups? What woods did you choose? Why did you decide to go with an external preamp rather than a built-in?

Thanks!

Hi Daniel,
Glad that you get the tailpiece design!
If you look at my first post, there is a link to my blog, which explains everything to detail.
Cheers Gary

For those who are interested I just put this emando up for sale on eBay. The listing is here if you are interested

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171055537865? ... 1555.l2649

I’m open to sensible offers- I’d rather give a decent discount to a fellow forum member rather than pay eBay fees!
Cheers Gary
