Tab for Mandolin

Postby dprestidge » Sun Jun 25, 2017 1:41 pm

I am primarily a guitarist, and use Guitar Pro 6. I read somewhere that there is a mandolin template for the program, but I can't find it. If anyone can't point me in its direction, I would be grateful. In the meantime, there is a fix, but it is a bit laborious.
(1) Open a tab for acoustic bass
(2) Alter the tuning in the instrument panel to G3, D3, A3, E3
(3) Make sure you click the "apply" button
(4) You will need to get rid of the standard notation stave, as the notes look all over the place
(5) Change the sound to twelve string - it sounds OK
(6) Change the bass clef to a treble clef

I would also like to be able to add the standard notation stave, but I will have to work on that. Any comments or guidance will be gratefully received.

It's just the first few bars to show how it's set up. In the key of G major. Why do you say it's not Ashokan Farewell?

My mistake, not used to seeing it in G it was written D major, which is what most people [ including me ] play it in.
