Alfredo Albertini - luthier

Postby billfleming » Mon Oct 22, 2007 8:40 am

Does anyone know much more about Alfredo Albertini. All I can discover is that he was an early 20th century Italian luthier best known for mandolins who also built guitars. How well known is he in the mandolin world? Are his mandolins rated?

Try asking at The Mandolin Cafe, they have a message board dedicated to this type of mandolin.

Thanks for the suggestion Dave. A picture of an identical mandolin to my Albertini was posted on Mandolin Cafe in response to my query.

Luthier Andy Manson is asking the same quesiton on his website if you look in the photos section where he has a photo of one of Alfredo Albertini's guitars:

I don't know anything about Albretini other than that his bowlbacks crop uop quite regularly on ebay. I'd guess the quality would be similar to some of the other well known names such as Ferrari or Stridente?
