Mandolin repair

Postby robertlynch84 » Mon Sep 22, 2008 3:04 pm

Hi, I recently bought a fairly cheap mandolin to learn on and have realised that the bridge was poorly manufactured. Can anyone suggest how I would go about replacing it? I have seen bridges for sale on the internet but am not really sure how I would go about putting grooves into them to fit my mandolin. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi Rob

The problem with grooves for the strings is simply a matter of having the right file and putting them in the right place. The hardest part is fitting the bridge to the top of the instrument. Have a look here ... tfeet.html
P.S. Why do my words always seem to get replaced by punctuation?
