Hi everyone.

Does anybody know of any course (full, part or short) in the uk on building/making a mandolin?

There's a guitar making course in the sunny/rainy/snowy Peak District - http://www.craft-supplies.co.uk/cgi-bin ... ?event=123 - If you ask Alan Marshall (the tutor) nicely he might let you build a mandolin instead.

I attended (part-time) the excellent Stringed Instruments Course at Anniesland College in Glasgow after I retired from teaching and can recommend it. I have been building instruments since then all thanks to the tutors on this course. Here is a link to the course on the college website:

Jon that looks like a great course, i will have to check that out, trouble is i live in grimsby, so maybe i will have to do the full time one and stay up there rather than the part time one.


ray i will be calling them on monday to see .
