Ghost Town Showdown - their first EP
The band was spawned in late 2005 in Surrey, when brothers
Colin and
Phil Attrill, having previously played in rock and indie (and, once
upon a time, brass) bands, decided it was time to go back to their
acoustic roots.
Like all good bluegrass bands, in order to
complete the line-up they turned to a member of the family, thus their
cousin, Simon Roberts, was persuaded to take up mandolin. They honed
their sound busking in London and before long were regularly gigging,
taking with them their gather-round-the-microphone bluegrass and
hi-lonesome harmonies.
Their first EP, recorded with a
minimalist 'live in the studio' feel, features 5 original songs as well
as their take on the traditional classic, 'Little Glass of Wine'. It's
available at gigs or by getting in touch with the band via their
MySpace website (www.myspace.com/ghosttownshowdown)
